Paros Cone Vase
A single cone of steel, mirror-polished and destined for a chorus of calla lilies. Three cabochons of marbled black stone interrupt the shine, placed with the precision of buttons on a coat.
Named for Paros, the Greek island whose marble built temples, it has that same cool, quarried gravity, just distilled into something that could hold a single stem or command an entire console on its own. It's made in Istanbul, where the shine you see is a plating tradition passed down through generations of family workshops — the same hand-finishing once reserved for silverware, now given to a single sculptural form.
Dimensions: 8 × 40cm; 7.09 × 15.75in
Material: Copper/ brass based silver plated
Care: Hand Wash Only: Use mild soap and towel dry immediately. Not Dishwasher Safe: Avoid dishwashers, bleach, and abrasive scrubbers.
About the Maker
The workshop behind this piece has been bending metal in Istanbul since 2004, and it shows — not in polish alone, but in the patience underneath it. Copper and brass start rough, worked by hand into form, then sent through silver, gold, or nickel plating until the surface earns its shine rather than just wearing it. Nothing here is inherited technology; it's inherited hands. A family discipline, several generations deep, applied to objects that have no interest in trends — only in outlasting them.
