Designed in collaboration with Underwater Weaving, this hand basket is a provision for anyone likely to pop by the market with the posh, newspaper-wrapped cheese. Crafted from smoked and chocolate-toned rattan with a small red detail woven through the weave, it has the particular charm of old utility baskets once used for errands, low stakes foraging, or transporting slices of cake to somebody else’s garden.

Founded by designer Erin Pollard and based between New York and Maine, Underwater Weaving Studio creates handwoven basketware that balances sculptural form with everyday utility.
