Pezza Tablecloth
Swim into summer with this joyful tablecloth, hand block-printed in Italy with rust-toned fish moving across crisp white linen. The color leans sunbaked and elemental somewhere between terracotta and the deep hulls of working boats, recalling the salted poetry of coastal life.
A playful classic in the making, it stands easily on its own, or pairs beautifully with the matching napkins.
Dimensions: 71 x 118 in; 180 x 300cm
Material: 100% Linen
Care: Machine wash: first time separately from other colors at 30 Celsius, thereafter at 40 Celsius.
About the Maker
Created by a stamperia in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy that still uses the ancient technique of hand printing linen using carved pearwood blocks, natural dyes and a wooden mallet, each placemat and napkin is imbued with a rich history. Traditionally only ruggine (literally rust) and vinegar was used to dye the material, however, today other naturally derived pigments have been added to the pallet. Once dyed, the linens are dried and washed in a caustic solution to rinse and set. In fact, the magic is in the rinse - the initial hues emerging as brilliant and rich colors.
