A respectably-sized woven basket designed in collaboration with Underwater Weaving, with the nostalgic charm of something found in a lakeside holiday house or hanging from the hook of a weathered country kitchen. Handwoven from richly toned rattan, its darker weave and small red accent give it the feeling of an object with a story already attached to it. Perfect for citrus on the table, bread at dinner, or a tower of tennis balls for the dog.

Material: Woven from mature rattan sourced from Indonesia
Care: For indoor use. Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Rattan is a natural and flexible plant fiber. If misshapen during use, firmly mold back into place.

About the Maker

Founded by designer Erin Pollard and based between New York and Maine, Underwater Weaving Studio creates handwoven basketware that balances sculptural form with everyday utility. Each piece is made by hand in Maine using traditional weaving techniques and natural materials, embracing the irregular textures and subtle variations that come from true craftsmanship. Pollard’s work draws from historic basketry traditions while giving them a distinctly contemporary sensibility — tactile, functional, and expressive.
