Cirrus Octagonal Plate
From Frances Palmer’s cloud study in porcelain, the Cirrus Octagonal Plate borrows its name — and its logic — from the shapely cirrus formation: diffuse, elongated, never quite fixed. The geometry is nominally strict, but softened at the edges, as though the circle had been revised rather than abandoned. Creamware lends a slight translucency, and with it, a record of the hand — present, but not overthought.

About the Brand
Frances Palmer has maintained her ceramic practice for over three decades, working from her Connecticut studio where each piece is made entirely by her hand. Trained as both an artist and a photographer, she brings a studied attention to composition and surface that carries through her work in clay.
Her approach is disciplined and iterative — forms refined over time rather than reinvented. Drawing on historical precedent without adhering to it, her work is exacting without rigidity, balancing proportion, line, and material with a steady, deliberate hand.
