Untitled 13

$780

Willie Cole’s smaller works carry the same pulse and rhythm as his large-scale paintings — just distilled and more intimate. These pieces buzz with gestural energy, their lines and marks dancing across the surface with a freedom that feels almost musical.

Wonderful hung alone, they also come alive in multiples — a foursome creates its own conversation, a syncopated rhythm that animates a wall. Playful, expressive, and full of character, they’re an invitation to live with art that feels both powerful and personal.

NOTES: This piece is part of an ongoing exhibition. It is framed in an artist frame which is not part of the work and can be replaced. Shipping details and costs will be confirmed after your order.

About the Brand

Willie Cole is a Connecticut-based abstract painter and photographer, whose practice is guided by intuition, rhythm, and a deep trust in process. In the studio—an extension of his own thinking—he works with a keen sense of movement and tempo, often letting music set the pace. Early influences include the legacies of Abstract Expressionism—Joan Mitchell, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, and Cy Twombly—yet the visual language he’s developed is entirely his own: loose, unapologetic, and alive. Eschewing over-planning in favour of discovery, Cole privileges sensation over didacticism, inviting viewers to feel before they interpret.
