David Stark is a renowned New York-based event producer, designer, author, as well as Founder and Chief Creative Officer of David Stark Design and Production, a full-service event design and planning firm. A wild creative, he takes inspiration from the world over - past, present and future - from books and movies, to observations at work, in the supermarket or on the street collected throughout his everyday life.
With these he manifests a design playground that softens the edges of sophisticated adults and lets that wonderful, playful, artful childlike sense of wonder in the world shine through.
Recently David produced the king of breakfasts, inspired by the children’s book ‘Bread and Jam for Breakfast’, incorporating a number of PORTA’s favorite products. The result was fabulously unapologetic in approach. It was bold and brilliant and like all of his work, unexpected, magical and full of joy. There is however, nothing silly about Stark’s design. Impeccably conceived, there is line and order in the form, color and texture brought in to play. It is that balance that he draws between wonder and elegance that we find so intriguing and so appealing. What in the world will he cook up next?
