In 2018, Anne-Sophie Rosseel became a mother and realized a number of things: that children need small furniture, grow fast, see the world with wonder, and view all objects as opportunities for play. And so, House of RoRo was born—a design studio operating at the intersection of practical and poetic, creating modern furniture for children of all ages.

As big fans of House of RoRo, we appreciate the depth of humor Anne-Sophie’s designs achieve through such an economy of line. Unlike other children's furniture that we hide away, we want these pieces (and the lovely children who accompany them) front and center in our lives as they explore and grow. Like House of RoRo, PORTA seeks to bring fun, beauty, and ease to the table without compromising on design. We want to highlight the importance of craft and the handmade, and to delight in everyday moments. If that means getting our kids to sit down to breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a smile on their faces and a pep in their step, all the better!
“I’d seen vintage photos of similar shots and wanted do a version with our round top Riva table and Porta’s plates and cups organized as the eyes, nose, and mouth. All the pieces I chose are playful and bold in their shapes and colors and they make for an adorable table setting that will have your kids sitting down at the table in no time.”
PAGAN DINNER PLATE | I love the ridged edges of these plates combined with the deep blue glazing and unique symbols. They add a touch of elegance and depth to any table setting.
LORENZO FISH PLATE | The fish shape and hand-glazed stripes are simply delightful. We have a thing for fishes in our family.
LOUISA SNACK BOWL | This bowl reminds me of candy. It’s perfect for adding a pop of fun and color to any spread.
COLORSCAPE TUMBLER | The bubbles in the glass have this retro quality that I tend to fall for. They’re both nostalgic and modern at the same time.
GUIDO COFFEE SET | Simple and efficient, just the way I like it. The bordeaux and indigo colors are absolutely gorgeous and add a sophisticated touch to my morning coffee ritual.
EGG CUPS | Cute and swirly, they make breakfast feel special. I looooove “un oeuf à la coque” on a weekend morning.
