About Lucia Fainzilber

Lucia Fainzilber is a fashion photographer and art director from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her work is a search of the self, an exercise to eliminate imposed histories, cultures, and ideas. The experience of migrating from her home country has become a fertile ground for creativity and exploration, leading to the search of selfhood, identity, and home in a foreign space. Lucia studied Art Direction in Films at Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires and worked in film post production before moving to New York to study at The International Center of Photography. She has since participated in art fairs and had shows in Paris, Barcelona, Germany, Miami, New York, Los Angeles and London, and is represented by Praxis Art Gallery in New York. She also works commercially for brands making both worlds coexist.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, the New York-based photographer and art director imbues all of her work with an exploration of the self. This series aims to impart that selfhood to the flower, highlighting their complexity and intricate intelligence, often overlooked by humans. Lucia observes that flowers are often found in the background of human life, utilized for decoration, but rarely given center stage. With these portraits, she invites her floral subjects to stand in the light, allowing the viewer to witness their subtle performance as a quiet embodiment of power.

We were first introduced to Lucia Fainzilber through Pilar Garcia Solchaga, who collaborated with Lucia on a project that featured PORTA products staged in an interior photoshoot that showcased Lucia’s work in a domestic setting, some of which can be seen below. We were immediately drawn to the artist’s work and keen to collaborate with her for ART360.

Each edition is priced at $4,200. All works are digital color printed on archive paper and 36 x 24 inches in size.

About Art360

ART360 is an ongoing series in our 360 Atlantic Avenue space that showcases the work of artists that we love and want to celebrate. Informed by the past, speaking to the future and placing you in the present, art in your home is more than decoration - it frames and reflects who you are within that. Through ART360 we are excited to present artists that have both the aesthetic strength and the conceptual depth to ground their work in continued relevance and ongoing interest.
