An Evening with Courtney Grow & Friends

Last week, gathered for an intimate dinner with Courtney Grow — twelve of us around her table, in the beautiful home she’s been shaping with her trademark mix of curiosity, creativity, and care.

Together, we created a setting that reflected the season and her spirit: cool, romantic, and refined, but grounded and real. The table came alive with cobalt plates, tumbling autumn fruit, and pools of candlelight — small gestures that caught the light and made the whole scene hum.

It was the kind of night that reminded us why we love what we do — a table full of people, stories, and laughter.

For the tablescape, we wanted to reflect both the season and the spirit of Courtney’s home — cool, romantic, and refined, but grounded and real. We layered our Riga tablecloth, set the table with Catalina plates in cobalt, and filled Remi bowls with tumbling autumn fruit for a touch of theatre. Flowers came in deep, passionate tones — a jumble of clear vases, each with its own shape and story — set among pools of candlelight and a flicker of silver from the Alexander tumblers and Sophia salt and pepper. Small gestures that caught the light and made the whole scene hum.

Dinner came courtesy of Chef DeVonn Charles Francis, who created a meal that was as soulful as it was precise — rooted in memory and culture, yet playful and alive in the moment. There’s much more to say on the subject of DeVonn and his menu, but for now, let’s just say it was the perfect complement to the evening: thoughtful, surprising, and completely delicious.

It was the kind of night that reminds us why we love what we do — a table full of people, stories, and laughter, and a meal that felt like celebration from the first bite to the last candle burning low.
